Larger, second-generation XC90, looking simpler and more upright in a quest to be more premium, partly in response to the Chinese market. Débuted a new logo for Volvo. First on the SPA platform, to underpin future models. Rethought interior, with large centre console, with cloud-based services; three rows of seats as standard. More safety features, including automatic braking. Turbocharged fours develop 142 kW at the base level; top models add a supercharger and, in the case of the T8, an electric motor driving the rear wheels. Infotainment interface impressive at first, buggy over time.
