More rounded forms, longer wheelbase, and more interior room. A one-litre DOHC model was added in 1997, making Parati the first one-litre wagon in Brazil since the DKW Vemaguet, which had been cancelled in 1967. Five-door wagon from late 1997, although Volkswagen would lose leadership of the small wagon segment to Fiat during this era.
