Originally the Chinese-market name for the Volkswagen Passat (B6), as at the time of launch, Passat was already used for a long-wheelbase version of the B5 model. When the B6 was facelifted in 2010 to become the B7, FAW–Volkswagen used the Magotan name to denote a long-wheelbase version of the new model, which it launched the following year.
