Volkswagen Corrado. 1988–95 (prod. 97,521). 3-door coupé. F/F, 1781, 1994 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1781, 1994 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 2792, 2861 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Scirocco successor, though not as startling as some had mooted prior to launch. Very sporting and well engineered, though sold more poorly than its predecessor. Supercharged 1·8 to 1993, though normally aspirated models available; DOHC 1·8 for UK and Italy. Two-litre DOHC from 1991. VR6 with 2·9 litres from 1991, though some export models had 2·8, notably Corrado SLC in the US. Built by Karmann.
