Volkswagen 1600 (Typ 3). 1968–77 (prod. 390,750). 4-door sedan, 2- and 4-door fastback sedan, 3-door wagon. R/R, 1594 cm³ (F4 OHV). Brazilian version of Typ 3, but with squared off front reminiscent of Volkswagen 411. Four-door notchback at launch, Variant wagon from 1969. Two-door fastback in 1970, called TL, and facelift across the range to twin-headlamp look. Another facelift the following year with a more elegant front end, and four-door fastback introduced. With the arrival of the Passat in Brazil, only the Variant remained by 1976.
