Small entry-level car, as Vauxhall competed with the Ford Anglia and Morris Minor. Arguably more attractive than its chief rivals in the UK, Viva survived three generations, though toward the end, it was looking dated alongside more modern rivals, especially from Japan. GM replaced the Viva with the Vauxhall Astra, a badge-engineered version of its Opel Kadett D. The Viva name was revived for a British-built small hatchback in 2014, going on sale in 2015, twinned with the Opel Karl.
