1974 Vauxhall Victor (FE).jpg

Vauxhall Victor/Vauxhall VX4/90 (FE). 1972–6 (prod. 44,078 not incl. VX4/90). 4-door saloon, 5-door estate. F/R, 1759, 2279 cm³ (4 cyl. OHC). Generally believed to be last all-British Vauxhall before Opel took charge of engineering for both brands, though vehicle actually has commonalities with Opel Rekord D. Mid-Atlantic styling not very graceful and considered bland, as buyers went to Ford Cortina and Consul instead. Rust an issue for collectors. Renamed VX for 1976. Tooling later sold to Hindustan of India, where it was built as the Hindustan Contessa for 21 years.

Manufacturing location: Luton, England

Marque: Vauxhall | Model: Vauxhall Victor | Predecessor: Vauxhall Victor FD | Successor: Vauxhall VX
