1977 Vauxhall VX 2300 Estate.jpg

Vauxhall VX. 1976–8 (prod. unknown). 4-door saloon, 5-door estate. F/R, 1759, 2279 cm³ (4 cyl. OHC). Facelifted Victor, with only minor improvements. Top VX 2300 GLS replaced Ventora as the Vauxhall flagship. Poor sellers, thanks to the mid-Atlantic styling, and well behind the Opel-engineered cars in this class. VX4/90 briefly sold as part of this series, with five-speed gearbox. Deleted in 1978. Tooling later sold to Hindustan of India, where it was built as the Hindustan Contessa for 21 years.

Manufacturing location: Luton, England

Marque: Vauxhall | Predecessor: Vauxhall Victor (FD) | Successor: Vauxhall Carlton Mk I
