Vauxhall Carlton (V-car). 1978–82 (prod. 80,000 approx. incl. 1982–6 models). 4-door saloon, 5-door estate. F/R, 1979 cm³ (I4 OHC). British edition of Opel Rekord E1, replacing the unloved VX. Identical to Rekord mechanically, but distinguished by dramatic droop-snoot front end. Facelift in 1982 saw to the end of this uniqueness, as Carltons became rebadged Rekords.
