Triumph TR6.jpg

Triumph TR6. 1969–76 (prod. 94,619). 2-door convertible. F/R, 2498 cm³ (I6 OHV). Total restyle by Karmann for TR series, equipping TR6 with a more modern style, but vehicle still packaged like a 1960s’ automobile. Described as hairy and masculine, but beginning to be surpassed by more modern sports cars such as the Nissan Fairlady Z (S30). Two engines, carried over from TR5 and TR250: fuel injection for UK (initially with 150 bhp, later detuned), carburetted for US (with compression dropping for 1971). Independent rear suspension. Minor changes to keep abreast of US legislation, with ride height raised for 1971. No wire wheel options for 1972 model year on.

Manufacturing location: Canley, Coventry, England

Marque: Triumph | Predecessors: Triumph TR5, Triumph TR250 | Successor: Triumph TR7
