Triumph Stag Mk II.jpg

Triumph Stag. 1970–7 (prod. 25,939). 2-door convertible. F/R, 2997 cm³ (V8 OHC). Grand tourer from Triumph, and not really a full convertible: roll bar hoop and T-bar remained, anticipating US legislation. Michelotti styling proved smart and contemporary, and lent itself to the Triumph Mk II range. Fully independent suspension. Engine problems soon emerged, from poor design and manufacture, which led to poor sales: a tiny 2,871 went to the US. Mk II from 1973, with relatively few changes.

Manufacturing location: Canley, West Midlands, England

Marque: Triumph
