Toyota Vitz (KSP130/NSP130/NCP130). 2010 to date (prod. n/a). 3- and 5-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 998 cm³ (I3 DOHC), 1329, 1496 cm³ petrol, 1497 cm³ petrol–electric hybrid, 1364 cm³ diesel (I4 DOHC). Third-generation Vitz, launched in December 2010, again exported as Yaris. Stop–start 1·3 the most innovative on launch, saving fuel to the tune of 26·5 km/l (75 mpg [Imperial]). Production first with UV-reducing glass in the front-door glass, reducing 99 per cent of UV light. Topped with RS model, equipped with 1·5, though FWD only; 4WD available for lesser models. CVT option across range. Larger and more athletic exterior, with Cd dropping to 0,285, appearing less international and more Japanese than its predecessor; more interior room. Less engaging behind the wheel compared with previous model. “Cross”-grille facelift in 2014.
