Toyota Tercel 2-door.jpg

Toyota Tercel (L50). 1994–9 (prod. n/a). 2-, 3- and 4-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 1295 cm³ petrol, 1453 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 1331, 1497 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Last Tercel, with improved equipment and safety, and usual Toyota virtues of quality and reliability. Mostly carryover under the skin, but with cost-cutting—this was Toyota’s response after the economic bubble had burst. Very dull—the rounded styling of the L40 gave way to something far more conservative. Mid-term changes 1997.

Manufacturing locations: Toyota City, Aichi, Japan; Jhongli, Taiwan, Rep. of China

Marque: Toyota | Model: Toyota Tercel | Predecessor: Toyota Tercel (L40) | Successors: Toyota Vitz (P10), Toyota Platz, Toyota Soluna

q.v. Toyota Corsa (L50), Toyota Corolla II (L50)
