Toyota Tercel (L20). 1982–90 (prod. n/a). 3-, 4- and 5-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 1295, 1452, 1456 cm³ petrol, 1453 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC). Smaller Tercel, with reduced wheelbase (by 70 mm), initially with four- and five-door sedans; three-door added 1983. Front-wheel drive, giving Toyota an entrant in the field as Mazda and Nissan came out with their offerings. Mid-term facelift in 1984, with four-wheel-drive option. Hatchbacks replaced in 1986, but four-door sedan continued in to the third generation’s production period, deleted in 1990.
