Toyota Sprinter Carib (AL25). 1982–8 (prod. n/a). 5-door wagon. F/F, F/A, 1452 cm³ (I4 OHC). Parts’ bin wagon version of Tercel, and sold as Tercel in some export markets. Engine, transaxle and front-wheel drive from Tercel, rear axle from Corolla (E70); four-wheel-drive transfer case built in to the transmission. Front-wheel drive model for some export markets, otherwise four-wheel drive. Tall body, proving particularly versatile. Improvements in 1984 and 1986.
