Toyota Sprinter (E20/TE21/TE27). 1970–4 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé. F/R, 1166, 1407, 1588 cm³ (I4 OHV), 1588 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Version of the Toyota Corolla (E20) for the Toyota Auto Store dealer network, now spun off on to its own model line. Different grille and taillights, and some differences inside. Initially 1·2, with 1·4 added in September 1970; five-speed manual from April 1971; four-door sedan later that year. Trueno coupé from 1972, a long-running sporting version of the Sprinter, with a twin-cam 1·6 2T-G engine, equating to the Corolla Levin in the sister range. Mid-term changes 1972; 1·6 OHV from 1973.
