Toyota Matrix (E120). 2003–4 (prod. n/a). 5-door wagon. F/F, F/A, 1796, 1798 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Tapping in to the SUV craze, Toyota created a crossover version of its Corolla, different from the Spacio minivan built in Japan. Supposedly combining wagon, SUV and MPV traits, with fold-flat rear seats, Matrix was essentially identical to its donor car, but for performance XRS model, geared toward sportiness.
