Toyota Mark II (X100/GX100/JZX100). 1996–2000 (prod. 365,049 sold in Japan incl. Qualis). 4-door hardtop sedan. F/F, F/A, 2492, 2997 cm³ (I6 DOHC), 2446 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC). Attractive, albeit conventional, Tetsuo Hattori-penned shape débuted for 1996, on X90 platform to reduce costs after the bubble economy burst. ABS now standard, with more safety features. Mid-term changes 1998. Thirtieth-anniversary (of the Mark II line) Trente model that year.
