F/A, 2693 cm³ petrol, 2755, 2982 cm³ diesel (I4 DOHC), 2986 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 3456, 3955 cm³ (V6 DOHC), 4608 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Fussier-looking Prado, this time without a three-door model. More aerodynamic, with improved fuel efficiency. More safety equipment. Body-on-frame construction as before. Minor changes in 2010. Sold also as Lexus GX as before, but with smaller GX400 complementing GX460 (q.v. Lexus GX (J150)). Ride not great but one of the more “bulletproof” off-roaders available. Diesel somewhat underpowered for the heavy vehicle.
