Informally the Kijang Doyok, named after a cartoon character that the grille reminded buyers of. Second generation of Toyota’s utility vehicle for the ASEAN market, with a passenger version for the first time. Various lengths. Earlier 3K engine upgraded to 4K, developing 60 PS. Square headlights with 1984 facelift, and a more powerful (63 PS) 1·5 engine introduced. Asymmetric design, with rear door on passenger side. Sold as Tamarraw in the Philippines.
