Toyota Fortuner (AN160). 2015 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door UV. F/A, 2393, 2755 cm³ diesel, 2693 cm³ petrol (I4 DOHC), 3956 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Hilux-based SUV from Toyota’s Thai plant, not offered in Japan. Different dashboard to Hilux this time, to shift it away slightly from its truck origins. Strong as with Hilux, reasonably compliant ride, thanks to five-link coil-spring live axle instead of the Hilux’s leaf-spring live axle. Seven seats, though not much luggage space with all of them up. Not as comfortable as Land Cruiser Prado, but a cheap way to get into a capable off-road Toyota.
