Toyota Crown (S140). 1991–5 (prod. n/a). 4-door hardtop sedan. F/R, 1988, 2492, 2997 cm³ (I6 DOHC), 2446 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC). Crown splits into three lines: the S130 sedan and wagon carried on, the hardtop went to the S140 designation, while a more luxurious model, the Majesta, débuted (q.v.). Royal Touring replaced previous Crown Athlete. Body-on-frame construction continued, although Majesta went monocoque. Styling related to Toyota Celsior (F10). No more class 5 models: all were wider, fitting into class 3. Minor changes throughout the run, mid-term ones in 1993.
