Toyota Corona (T140). 1982–7 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 4-door taxi, 5-door wagon, 2-door hardtop. F/R, 1452, 1972, 2366 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1496, 1588, 1770 cm³ (I4 OHV), 1587, 1770, 1968 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Memorable for being endorsed by then-James Bond Roger Moore, T140 Corona débuted as a sharper development of T130. Sportier image. Short life in Japan as Corona FF (T150) rapidly came on stream very soon after T140, with liftback added first; most sedans replaced by late 1983. Boxier taxi continued, as did some sedan and van variants; Australian production of T140s continued in to 1987, with wagons exported. Coupés from 1982 to 1985, when they were replaced by T160. A sign of a bygone era, even then, as cars shifted to front-drive.
