1990 Toyota Celica All-Trac.jpg

Toyota Celica (T180/AT180/ST182/ST183/ST184/ST185). 1989–93 (prod. n/a). 2- and 3-door coupé, 2-door convertible. F/F, F/F 4WS, F/A, 1587, 1998, 2163 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Toyota, and other Japanese car makers, get arty with body shapes as 1980s close: T180 Celica was meant to ape water flowing over rocks. Carryover platform, but revised and claimed to be sturdier. Continued competition history, with GT-Four model; wide body adopted for GT-Four A version. GT-Four RC Group A homologation model in 1991, with 5,000 units. ASC-converted convertible from 1990 (ST183C). Mid-term facelift 1991, with GT-Four getting wide body; A dropped. Four-wheel-steer on some models. Excellent roadholding and handling, and typically refined (even the convertible, free from rattles and shakes), as expected from Toyota.
