1993 Toyota Carina ED 1·8F.jpg

Toyota Carina ED (ST200/ST201/ST202/ST203/ST205). 1993–8 (prod. n/a). 4-door hardtop sedan. F/F, F/A, 1838, 1998 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Related to Toyota Celica (T200) and Toyota Corona EXiV (ST200), launched on the market as a trio of models. Not really a hardtop in the traditional sense: a thin B-pillar was added for body rigidity. Like the Corona EXiV, featured a rounded, organic shape in vogue in the 1990s. More commonalities with sister cars: dashboard similar to that in the Celica. Four-wheel drive system from Celica added 1994, but not turbocharged. Mid-term changes 1995, and driver’s airbag now standard, though some equipment deleted to save costs. Passenger airbag and ABS become standard in 1996. Last of the line in 1998 as the hardtop market became less popular.

Manufacturing location: Tahara, Aichi, Japan

Marque: Toyota | Model: Toyota Carina | Predecessor: Toyota Carina ED (ST180)

q.v. Toyota Carina (T190)
