Toyota Camry/Daihatsu Altis (XV30/ACV30/MCV30). 2001–6 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 1998, 2362 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 2995, 3310 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Spacious, cab-forward Camry, borrowing some of the styling features of the smaller Corolla, but with particularly bland and uninspired appearance. Longer wheelbase and taller, with improvements all round. As with its predecessor, reliable and dependable. Comfortable seats, and very refined engine, keeping noise levels down. No wagon this time as its main North American market shifted to SUVs and MPVs. Mid-term changes 2004. Also available in the home market as Daihatsu Altis.
