Toyota BB Open Deck.jpg

Toyota BB (NCP3). 2000–5 (prod. n/a). 5-door sedan. 2-door pick-up truck. F/F, 1298, 1496 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Officially bB, novelty squared-off small car targeted at young urban males in Japan, but wound up getting customers from both sexes. Toyota Vitz (P10) platform. Open Deck truck from 2001 to 2003. Mid-term changes 2003. Exported to US as Scion xB, also targeted at younger buyers, and very successful against more fashionable rounded shapes, as a sort of anti-car. Roomy, thanks to boxy shape, and quite well equipped; surprisingly, handling was not that good despite Vitz underpinnings, nor was the four-speed automatic.

Manufacturing location: Japan

Marque: Toyota | Model: Toyota BB | Successors: Toyota BB (QNC2), Toyota Corolla Rumion
