Swoopy fastback bodies for sedan and coupé. Six-cylinder units introduced to take on the Nissan Skyline (C10) GT and its successor. Rigid axle leaf springs at rear replaced in this generation with four-link coil springs with a lateral rod. Numbers-wise, a bigger sales’ success than its predecessor, but market share actually decreased as the segment matured. Minor facelift 1973, nose extended 1974, DOHC for GSS model 1975.
