Tianjin Xiali N3 (TJ7102). 2004–12 (prod. n/a). 4- and 5-door sedan. F/F, 993, 1051 cm³ (I3 OHC), 1342, 1425 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Local development of TJ7xx1 series, based on Daihatsu Charade (G100), released August 2004. Upgrade to N3+ in September 2005. N3 is meant to denote concepts of national, new and nice. Plus included Tianjin’s own 3GA2 engines based on the Toyota originals, meeting Chinese emissions’ standards; featured greater safety (airbags, power steering), with optional stability control. Targeted a younger consumer. N3+ models from 2008. Facelift in 2012.
