Local development of TJ7xx1 series, based on Daihatsu Charade (G100), released August 2004. Upgrade to N3+ in September 2005. N3 is meant to denote concepts of national, new and nice. Plus included Tianjin’s own 3GA2 engines based on the Toyota originals, meeting Chinese emissions’ standards; featured greater safety (airbags, power steering), with optional stability control.
