Tata Zica. 2016 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door saloon. F/F, 1049 cm³ diesel, 1198 cm³ petrol (I3 DOHC). Tata launches a rival to the Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Hyundai Grand i10, with Zica a contraction of zippy car. However, the car made it on to the market at the same time as the deadly zika virus, forcing Tata to rethink its name after spending considerably on its promotion. Some interior quality niggles but excellent sound system available despite the low price; roomy inside. Good ride, gear-change could be better. More refined than previous Tata efforts, with some noise, but not in an annoying fashion. Diesel unit downsized from Indica 1·4.
