Suzuki Swift (ZC13S/ZC53S/ZD53S/ZC83S/ZD83S). 2016 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 996 cm³ (I3 DOHC), 1242, 1373 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Fourth-generation Swift announced at the end of 2016 for sale in January 2017. New platform, with reduced weight (by 120 kg) and greater rigidity. Lower centre of gravity, to aid handling. No three-door this time, with the rear door handles of the five-door moved into the C-pillar to give the impression of a sportier design. Floating roof design, in vogue in the mid-2010s. Improved 1·2 unit, with better fuel economy, including mild hybrid model. Direct-injection 1·0 featured supercharger to get power comparable with a 1·5 but with better economy and 97 g/km of carbon dioxide emissions. Adaptive cruise control, lane departure, high beam assist and other safety features. Very agile and fun to drive, a rival to Mazda Demio (DJ) and Mini.
