Suzuki Swift (HT51S/HT81S). 2000–4 (prod. n/a). 3- and 5-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 1328, 1490 cm³ (I4 DOHC). First car in the Japanese market to have the Suzuki Swift name, though the nameplate had been in use for export versions of the Cultus since the 1980s. Tall, boxy styling, though a fairly basic, unrefined car, built to a price. Formed the basis of the Chevrolet Cruze (HR51S) and Suzuki Ignis (2000–7)). Three-door sporting model, HT81S, had 1·5-litre engine, sold from 2003.
