Suzuki Alto (CA71V/CA72V/CC71V/CC72V). 1984–8 (prod. n/a). 3- and 5-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 543, 796 cm³ (I3 OHC), 796 cm³ (I3 DOHC). Same logic as before: Alto denoted the three-door commercial models, Fronte the five-door passenger ones, though a five-door Alto was briefly available. Sporty S model from start, with 12-inch wheels. Four-wheel drive added December 1984, electronic fuel injection and turbo in 1985, mid-term changes 1986. Alto Works, which still has a small cult following among kei car fanatics, launched in 1987, with DOHC and intercooler.
