2019 Subaru XV.jpg

Subaru XV (GT3/GT7/GTE). 2017 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door sedan. F/A, 1599, 1995 cm³ petrol, 8·8 kWh–1995 cm³ electric–petrol hybrid (F4 DOHC). Subaru repeats the XV formula for a third generation (second if you count it as a standalone nameplate), with a more solid-looking design unveiled at Genève 2017. Longer (15 mm), wider (20 mm) and with an extra 30 mm in the wheelbase, but no higher (1,550 mm). Ground clearance remained at 200 mm. Very well equipped, with impressive infotainment screen, and safety features (collision avoidance, front-occupant detection system). Not the cleanest engines, with 145 g/km of CO2 emitted for the 1·6, rising to 155 g/km for the 2·0, despite that unit having been revised for fuel efficiency and torque. Plug-in hybrid, Crosstrek Hybrid, for US market.

Manufacturing location: Japan

Marque: Subaru | Model: Subaru XV | Predecessor: Subaru XV (GP)

q.v. Subaru Impreza (GK)
