2011 Subaru XV.jpg

Subaru XV (GP7/GPE). 2011–17 (prod. n/a). 5-door sedan. F/A, 1600, 1995 cm³ petrol, 1995 cm³ petrol–electric hybrid, 1998 cm³ diesel (F4 DOHC). Crossover launched at the 2011 Frankfurt show, before fourth-generation Impreza announced officially in Japan, now considered a separate model line. Essentially a raised Impreza Sport, but hampered with an underpowered two-litre petrol engine, despite capable chassis. Vague steering, slightly firm ride, but a good handler. Much better torque and economy from diesel, the preferred powerplant for initial XVs.

Manufacturing location: Japan

Marque: Subaru | Model: Subaru XV | Predecessor: Subaru Impreza (GE) | Successor: Subaru XV (GT)

q.v. Subaru Impreza (GJ)
