Ssangyong crossover, initially with front-wheel drive and a petrol engine, with four-wheel-drive and diesels following later. Targeted Nissan Juke and Renault Captur and designed in Italy, though Ssangyong initially kept the designer’s identity a mystery. First all-new model since Mahindra takeover. Front MacPherson struts, rear torsion beam suspension; not the best ride based on Korean-spec models, though steering was light, for urban use. Many customization options. Well appointed cabin with decent plastics, and practical, though 1·6 petrol needed to be worked.
