1956 Simca Régence.jpg

Simca Trianon/Simca Versailles/Simca Régence/Simca Marly. 1954–7 (prod. 105,060). 4-door saloon, 5-door estate. F/R, 2351 cm³ (V8 SV). Ford-developed large saloon, with the aim of replacing previous Vedette, with new Aquillon side-valve V8 developing 80 hp (13 CV). Americanized styling. Appeared on Ford stand at the Paris show in October 1954 but produced as Simca from November, after the company took over Ford France’s operations. Never sold as Vedette: Trianon was the entry-level car, Versailles in the middle, and haut de gamme Régence, in theory, replaced the Ford Vendôme. Marly estate from 1956. Vistadome, a large moonroof, offered from that year. Minor annual changes.

Manufacturing location: Poissy, Île-de-France, France

Marque: Simca | Model: Simca Vedette | Predecessors: Ford Vedette, Ford Vendôme | Successors: Simca Ariane, Simca Vedette (1957–61)
