1964 Simca Chambord.jpg

Simca Chambord/Simca Présidence. 1959–66 (prod. 42,910, incl. 2,705 Jangada). 2- and 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/R, 2351 cm³ (V8 SV), 2414, 2504 cm³ (V8 OHV). Chambord lives on in Brazil, succeeding the earlier model which was a facsimile of the one built in France. Thicker, squarer C-pillar from 1964, making the car appear more contemporary. Wagon dubbed Jangada, while a more powerful Tufão sedan model filled the upper end of the range. Sporting model called Rallye. As with French Vedettes, the top-of-the-line model carried the Présidence name, complete with external rear wheel à la Lincoln, launched in 1965. For its final year, Présidence received the larger V8, delivering 140 hp.
