Simca 1301/Simca 1501. 1966–75 (prod. 605,815 for 1301, 236,263 for 1501). 4-door saloon, 5-door estate. F/R, 1290, 1475 cm³ (4 cyl. OHV). Revised 1300 and 1500, with elongated tail for saloon and elongated front for all models. Carryover engines, including ‘Rush’ 1290 cm³ unit used in Aronde. Very conventional, but quirky. Well made by 1960s’ standards but few survivors today. Estate practical with two-piece fold-down tailgate and picnic table option on 1500 GL. Sporty Special models 1969 with tuned 1475 cm³ unit and black grille, which went on all models from 1972. Mirror gearchange on right-hand-drive cars; column shift on left-hand drive.

Manufacturing location: Poissy, France

Marque: Simca | Predecessor: Simca 1300, 1500 | Successor: Simca 1307, 1308, 1309
