Senova

In Chinese, the brand 紳寶, or 绅宝, already existed—it was an old translation for Saab. But an Latinized name was needed, and BAIC created Senova as the official, new translation for 紳寶. The marque, at launch, denoted cars based on old Saab technology which had been bought by BAIC prior to the Swedish manufacturer’s collapse.
