Successor to [[Saenara]] and [[Shinjin]] and forerunner of [[Daewoo]]. Saehan manufactured GM models in Korea, with questionable quality, founded in 1972 as as a 50–50 joint venture between GM and Shinjin Motor Co. The Saehan Maepsy, a version of the GM T-car ([[Opel Kadett C]]) was perhaps its best known model, but several light trucks of GM and [[Isuzu]] origins were also made. Shinjin sold its stake in 1976, and Daewoo acquired a 50 per cent stake in 1978. The company was renamed Daewoo Motor Co. in 1983. Maepsys were made till 1989 (under the Daewoo brand from 1983).
