ItalDesign-styled range succeeding the Málaga, and essentially the booted version of the SEAT Ibiza. The first generation had a broader range of two- and four-door saloons as well as an estate, and was badge-engineered as the Volkswagen Polo Classic, and, in China, the Volkswagen City Golf. However, the second generation stuck with a single four-door body. In many countries, B-segment buyers prefer a hatchback to a formal saloon, and the Córdoba was replaced by a version of the Toledo.
