F/R, 1997 cm³ (I4 OISE), 2103, 2230, 2625, 2639 cm³ (I6 OISE), 2286 cm³ (I6 OHV). Brand-new, solidly built and engineered, advanced postwar range, inspired by Studebaker Champion (1947–52) and styled by Gordon Bashford. Rover 75 (for 75 bhp) first, with central fog lamp, nicknamed ‘Cyclops’, with large boot and rear seats ahead of the rear axle. Revised grille in 1952, removing the central fog lamp, then more major revisions in 1953, with addition of four-cylinder 60, and 2639 cm³ 90. Original 2103 cm³ increased to 2230 cm³ in 1954, with refresh, including higher rear quarters for a larger boot and a more substantial appearance. New front wings in 1956, along with high-compression 105R and 105S with 108 bhp; S with overdrive, R with complex automatic. Rover 100 from 1960, replacing 90 and 105, and 60 replaced by 2286 cm³ 80. Both replaced in 1962 by 95 and 110, with 2625 cm³ six in different states of tune. Aluminium opening panels initially, heavier steel toward the end. Drove well with strong engines, and smooth sixes.
