[[BMW]]-designed all-new [[Rolls-Royce]], built at new factory at Goodwood. A step up from previous [[Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph|Silver Seraph]]: BMW placed the Phantom well above its own range. Simple interior focused on elegance; exterior, however, very robust in appearance. Styling said to hark back to [[Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow|Silver Shadow]]s but far more imposing, quickly re-establishing Rolls-Royce brand as one of exclusive luxury saloons, not passé versions of [[Bentley]]s as they had been under [[Volkswagen]]. Long-wheelbase model has extra 250 mm in wheelbase. Series II from 2012, with new eight-speed automatic gearbox. Never referred to as Phantom VII in its lifetime, though the tag began appearing in the press after the launch of its successor.
