2003 Renault Clio V6.jpg

Renault Sport Clio V6. 2000–5 (prod. 134 Trophy, 1,500 approx. Phase 1, 1,300 approx. Phase 2). M/R, 2946 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Wild racing version of Clio II, recalling the 5 Turbo with mid-engine and rear-wheel drive. Civilian versions actually quite well equipped, with air conditioning and sound system. Rapid, plenty of grip from wide tyres, but still tricky as V6 lacked traction control. Understeer initially; oversteer from lifting off or planting one’s foot down; excellent brakes. Revisions in 2003, taking power output from 230 to 255 hp.

Manufacturing locations: Dieppe, Haute-Normandie, France; Uddevalla, Västra Götaland, Sweden

Marque: Renault | Model: Renault Clio | Predecessor: Renault 5 Turbo
