Renault Clio (X65). 1998–2012 (prod. 5,000,000 approx.). 3- and 5-door saloon. F/F, 1149, 1390 cm³ petrol, 1149 cm³ LPG, 1461, 1870 cm³ diesel (4 cyl. OHC), 1390, 1598, 1998 cm³ petrol, 1598 cm³ LPG (4 cyl. DOHC). Very successful follow-up to original Clio, larger all round, and more refined. Mid-term facelift in 2001, with further cosmetic changes in 2004, 2006 (with the introduction of base-model Campus to complement Clio 3) and 2009. Performance models include RS with two-litre engine. Good fuel economy but not that roomy or refined, while ride can be harsh. Handling below class standard.
