Sharp, attractive Giugiaro styling, looking voluminous. Four-door saloon from 1989, initially dubbed Chamade, cabriolet (made by Karmann) from 1990. Mid-term facelift 1992, further revisions 1994, with French production ceasing in 1995. Cabriolets to 1997. Argentinian production to 2000 (with 1·6 in addition to some other engines); Turkish production to 2003. Compared with contemporary Peugeots, bland to drive with the exception of sporting 16-valve models, though fairly competent.
