A modern Volkswagen Golf I rival, with hatchback body and transverse engine. Well thought out inside, with foldable and removable rear seat. Wheelbase differed on each side thanks to Renault’s rear suspension. Rust problems saw to the 14’s poor reputation, sealing the model’s fate.
