Porsche Taycan. 2019 to date (prod. n/a). 4-door saloon. R/R, F/R/A, 79·2, 93·4 kWh electric. Porsche AG gets into the electric car market under its own name (its founder had built an electric car for Lohner in 1898). Four-door saloon, slotting under the Porsche Panamera (971), and competing roughly in the size segment of the Tesla Model S, though far more upmarket. Total output at a minimum of 530–571 PS for the 4S from 2020; original Turbo and Turbo S models with 680 and 761 PS respectively. Turbo S could reach 100 km/h in 2·8 s. Battery located between the axles, with instant and consistent power delivery from 800 V architecture. Higher driving position as a result of the batteries in the floor. Excellent damping and steering, brake feel more natural at speed. Digital displays galore inside, with the option for more. Drag coefficient of basic Turbo at a low 0,22.
